“Sanna” is a 7 meters high cast iron sculpture on the pedestrian area of Place de la Comédie in Bordeaux. Created by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, the sculpture has become a highly popular feature of this part of Bordeaux, so much so in fact, that it was eventually acquired by an anonymous arts patron, on behalf of the Bordelaise.

The meditative face of Sanna is a bit of an optical illusion. Despite being rather flat, the head appears quite round and normal from almost any angle. With the neo-classical Grand Théâtre in the background, Sanna certainly adds another dimension to the Place de la Comédie.
